This is excellent, I used something similar for getting a job at my dream tech company myself. My emailing technique differs a little in that it’s way more direct – I tell them I’m interested in working with them, and am preparing a document for solving a potential problem, and ask them if they’d like me to include any particular things they would love to see in that document!

It worked for me on my first try for my dream company. I also wrote a very detailed guide for starting your career as a new graduate:
